Does anybody listen to the traffic channels?. I found theme to be so inaccurate. If I need traffic I put on the local news radio channel and listen to that. _________________ One Company-One Set of Channels-One Price-One Bill |

| Technology has passed these channels on by. Smart phones have done it. Google Nav. tells me traffic ahead in real time. . The Weather Channel gives me information on ANY city. |

i tune in sometimes hoping it will improve but here in LA by the time they air it evreything has already been cleaned up.
on wed. we had a tanker fire under a bridge at 12 pm that closed a 10 mile strech of a large section of freeway and the traffic channel was reporting it as a car fire with the right lane closed for 2 hours before they updated the information. the freeway is still closed because they had to demolish half the bridge. |

I'd say "waste of bandwidth" but...removing them wouldn't really clear up enough room to serve a purpose. _________________ I need more room for my signature. 255 characters is not enough. Complaint filed. |

You don't have weather in LA. That's the point. _________________ 2010 Poster of the Year!

| We have eleven months of summer, three weeks of winter, and one week of strong winds. Doesn't that count? |

| I did when it was DC only. Then when it was DC/Baltimore, I listened less. Now with DC/Baltimore/ATL, I don't listen because the DC traffic is only on once every ten minutes at "1" and if I'm going to remember that, I have to remember the number because I don't listen enough to program the channel, so I might as well go to WTOP at "8" which is always live. |

This. When I was living in DC 4 years ago I used the DC-only channel if I was checking traffic between WTOP's "8s". Today if I drive that direction I don't even bother since it shares time with 2 other cities and I'll get it faster and more accurate on WTOP. I'm sure subs in other major cities with all-newsers do the same. _________________ "A State of Sundays" on Electric Area SXM-52

The reason I asked about the traffic is some years back when I used to drive from South Jersey to Connecticut on a weekly basis. I sued to tune into the traffic. It was so inaccurate that I would put it on for laughs. I was wondering if it improved.
And on another note, I really don't see any sense in DC traffic, as every time I have driven through DC, no matter what time of day or night, it is one big traffic jam. _________________ One Company-One Set of Channels-One Price-One Bill |

in LA we have KNX which is decent they mostly report major accidents and closures not normal traffic slow downs that occur all the time like the 405 101 91 we have to many miles of road to cover the roadways here it would take maybe 15 minutes to tell you all the stuff going on
but now i use google on my smart phone for my traffic info its live and i would say 90 percent accurate
sometimes I hear the same reporter on knx on other xm traffic channels but the thing is so outdated its not live they update the traffic what seems like 40 minutes to me |
